I find that Bellbirds are known for being heard and rarely seen. Whenever I hear their beautiful melodies, it’s a reminder to stop and enjoy the moment. I, like many of you I’m sure, get caught up in the rush of life and planning for the future, that I forget to enjoy now.
The song of the Bellbird holds a special meaning for as it reminds me of my Dad, who was very good at imitating them. The song makes me think of his joy in life, rather than the sadness of his passing.
This artwork created with a combination of watercolour and ink, and depicts the beautiful Bellbird, aka Korimako.
